At the Resource is an ongoing feature of At The Ready Magazine providing information on free resources available to first responder agencies.

Free online courses from the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center, located at the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). TEEX offers these courses as a member of the National Disaster Preparedness Consortium (NDPC). TEEX was first established in 1998, and approved as a FEMA National Disaster Response Center in 2000 .

There are many free online courses available across public safety disciplines including; Hazmat Concepts, Cyber Incident Analysis and Response, and WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders. https://teex.org/Pages/Program.aspx?catID=667&courseTitle=Online+Training

“Courses are funded through DHS/FEMA’s Homeland Security National Training Program and are offered at no cost. The online format allows individuals to register and take the training at their own pace. Each of the courses offers Continuing Education Units from the International Association of Continuing Education and Training. In addition, the Cybersecurity online courses offer the opportunity to earn college credit hours as recommended by the American Council on Education.”

Through the NDPC, other types of training are also available from TEEX and other partner centers. Many are funded through DHS/FEMA.
