Happy New Year from At the Ready Magazine! 2014 is here, offering a fresh start, a clean slate, a time for new goals and promises of new habits. But you won’t find any resolutions in our pages. In fact, New Year’s resolution statistics from 2012 indicate that a whopping 8% of those who make resolutions are successful*. http://www.statisticbrain.com/new-years-resolution-statistics/ I am the 92%, as I suspect many of you are….so baby steps.

SMART goals are specific, measureable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound. Many great resources on personal goal setting are available, and achieving personal goals, such as one related to education or fitness, can help you feel empowered and successful. In this issue, At the Ready has articles on resources and strategies to help your agency set and meet its goals, ideas to prevent burnout, and a few reminders for run reports.

At the Ready has made a few goals for this coming year. We are committed to bringing you content that is responsible, reliable, and relevant each and every month in 2014. We will continue to offer free online classified ads for responder agencies, so send us your training, items for sale, and recruiting needs. We have a few other exciting surprises planned for the year that we will roll out in due time. We wish you all the best in 2014. We will be here to help you stay At the Ready.

   With warm regards,

      Dawn
